Dustin and I both were getting a little worn out over the summer, although we loved spending the time with our families. We were just ready to get married and start forever together. So, as you can imagine, our wedding day was perfect. It was an absolutely gorgeous day from the time we got out of the temple to the end of the day. It was surreal, and I had to keep reminding myself that this was me getting married. The most amazing thing was that I felt so peaceful the whole day. As soon as I saw my Dustin waiting for me outside of the temple I just felt calm (other than the fact that I wanted to run to him and jump up and down). It was so great having our close family and friends in the temple...like seriously overwhelming. Right before Dustin and I stepped out of the temple to greet everyone, he told me I looked beautiful and he asked me if I was ready to smile big the rest of the day. We laughed and kind of had to prep ourselves...but honestly it came so natural. We were incredibly happy.
The rest of the day included pictures, stuffing pizza down, actually sitting for 5 minutes with my family, Dustin packing for our honeymoon (Procrastinate much??), more pictures, and finally the amazing reception. We had such a blast during the reception. My mom and friends did fabulous with the decorations....I can't even describe how breathtaking it was! The food, drinks, chocolate fountain thanks to Jill, the cheese table!! The music by my brother/cousin/and friend!! The cake!! It was such a classy event. Dustin and I were having such a good time dancing and talking with people, we had to be told a few times that it was indeed time for us to leave. Our friends followed us out to the adorably decorated car and cheered for us. It was so much fun.
FUNNY/AWKWARD STORY:
So on the drive, Dustin and I realized that neither of us brought toothpaste. Um...disaster?? We couldn't just not brush our teeth for a week. So we went to a Wal-greens or something in our wedding attire, and quickly grabbed toothpaste. We were stopped by 3 people, and I was asked 3 times if I was the bridesmaid or the bride. They were serious and I'm not kidding. The first 2 I laughed and told them I was the bride. By the third one, I was just plain confused. I might have given her a weird look as I answered slowly "yes...I'm the bride..." Seriously did my dress not look white, and puffy, and gorgeous??? Crazy people.
Anyways, so that's the day! It was amazing and I am so happy to have had the whole summer with my parents planning this and just enjoying each other. And I am thrilled to be married to such a handsome, thoughtful, kind, hilarious, entertaining, strong,
Well...cheers to a new blog! (I promise I won't write this much every time. Holy cow.)
