I love gettin' into trouble!

Dustin and I have a new favorite activity called the game of TROUBLE! Remember this game?

We are missing most of the other pieces, so it works out to play with just the two of us.

We have been using it for a few minutes of relaxation after we get home from school.  Although I don't know how relaxing it is when because we both want to win more than anything.  It is actually kind of stressful.  Growing up I was known by my family as the Trouble Champion.  I just would always win and that's why I always wanted to play it! It is pure luck but it just feels so good to role 6's and slide right into the slots to get someone out.

Well now Dustin is challenging my title!  He wins just as much! We go crazy during that game.  We can't push the button fast enough to move our little guys around the board and if we get the other out we scream and yell, "I love gettin' into to Trouble!!" as loud as we can.  I'm worried our neighbors are going to start checking up on us to make sure everything is okay.  It is hilarious and I love having something to look forward to throughout the day, especially with finals just around the corner.

Happy Thursday!! If you have it, go play a friendly little game of Trouble!

Lamp Issues

This is our bedroom.

Notice the pretty little lamps on the sides of our bed?  I love them...well, I used to love them.  A few weeks ago I was sleeping and something very odd happened.  I woke up in the middle of the night with that lamp laying across my face!  It was weird and I didn't quite know what to think of it.  I felt invaded but I set it back up on the nightstand and went back to sleep.

Well, last night a small crashing noise woke both Dustin and I up in the middle of the night.  We questioned for a second what that could have been, but we went back to sleep assuming it was from outside.  This morning we saw that the lamp had fallen off the nightstand and crashed upside-down on the floor.  The crashing noise was the bulb being crushed to tiny pieces.

For the first lamp incident I just thought I had accidentally tugged on the chord and pulled it over onto me.  This second lamp incident seems much more violent.  Am I subconsciously a violent sleeper?  Do I literally sit up and swing my arms around in the middle of the night, trying to knock anything down around me?  Should Dustin be worried for his safety? From my knowledge I've always been a peaceful sleeper, so much so that my covers hardly ever move and I basically wake up in the same position that I fell asleep in.  I am seriously questioning that now.

This is what we woke up to this morning.

Is there another explanation for this madness or should I just start safe-proofing the area's where I sleep?

Our Tucano's Story

February 17th was Dustin's birthday.  I wanted to take him somewhere special for dinner and I immediately thought of Tucanos Brazillian Grill. That place is Fantastic.  We've only been once and there's a really good reason....its around $20 a person.  $40+  for both of us? No thank you! Taco Bell here we come!

Well the one time we went was on my birthday when we were dating.  I had received a birthday coupon from them in the mail for a 2 for 1 deal.  We had scored big time.  It doesn't get much better than a free meal at Tucano's.

So we called ahead of time to see about their infamous "Birthday special" we had participated in not too long ago.  They told us they were, in fact, still doing the deal.  Just come in on someone's birthday and we are good to go! We were thrilled to the brim.  We couldn't stop talking all week about our sweet meal deal we were about to get that weekend.

Saturday came and we got all dressed up.  We made sure to hardly eat anything all day so we could fill up on the buffet style meats, pasta, bread, salad...you name it.
We started off by taking a few excited pictures in the car, and then going out of our way to ask a lady to take a picture of us in the restaurant.  We were making memories people.  This was a big deal.

We specifically asked her to get the "Tucano's" sign in the picture.  She did great so we slipped her a few dollars...no just kidding we didn't.

Do you see how happy we look? This was the best day ever.

Now why is this sad picture in here, you ask? Wasn't everything going according to plan, you say? Well, not exactly.  I shall tell you what happened.  We were almost immediately seated by our waiter and we felt like royalty as we walked down the aisle, passing all of the people that didn't have reservations.  We smiled at everyone as my heels click-clacked all the way to our table. Our smiles got bigger and bigger as the waiter told us that tonight was our lucky night because it was seafood night along with the regular food specialty's.  Any kind of sea food was included in the original price, and we were basically drooling by the end of his speech.  He left us to get started on our dinner.

I then had the thought that this might be too good to be true.  I asked Dustin to go up to the front to just make sure that we were able to use this 2 for 1 deal because of his birthday.  Just to make sure!! I didn't want to get stuck with a huge bill at the end of our meal because of a miscommunication.  But I was still sure it would be fine.  I had just finished filling up my salad plate when Dustin comes back with a sad look on his face.  They told us the wrong information and in fact, we needed a special card along with it being his birthday.  We didn't have a special card.  Dustin was so cute as he told me that we should just stay, that they money was no big deal! We considered it for a second but I just couldn't talk myself into it. So I hastily scrapped my untouched salad back back into the bowl and we left, grabbing a handful of free mints and toothpicks on our way out the door.

We went to Iggy's instead because we had a coupon in the car.

It was delicous...way better than Tucano's.  We don't even like Tucano's anyway.  It's yucky.

P.S. I realize that we sound super cheap.  But we totally ARE cheap, and there's just no way of hiding that!
