One Year

Sunday, July 31st, was our one year anniversary.  Both of us could not believe a year has already passed, it seems like only a few months ago we had our wedding in California.

But anyways, with one year behind our belt, we had to celebrate!

On Saturday morning we woke up and played some tennis.  We walked up to BYU courts and went to get our wristbands.  Apparently since Dustin isn't taking classes this summer, he doesn't qualify as a full-time student and can't use the facilities.  We looked at each other sadly as we were turned down, and after a little bit Dustin asked, "Even if my wife is a full-time student I still can't play?"  The man's response was "Oh, you two are married?? Go right ahead then!"  It was awesome.  And I chipped in "Ya and it's our one year anniversary!" Because it just felt like the right timing to tell him that lol.  We chalked that up as yet another blessing of being married.

Tennis was fun.  We hadn't played in a long time and it felt good to run around and laugh with my best friend.  He has gotten pretty good but I refuse to let him beat me at my sport because he has plenty he beats me at :).  After that he surprised me by going to the Provo Bakery that we had heard about from my family.  It was delicious.....so good!

Then I went to the Anatomy lab for 3 hours....BAHRR NARHHH. Haha.  The day couldn't have been ALL fun and games, I'm still in the middle of the hardest semester of my life.

But that night we went out to this cute little family Italian restaurant.  We pretended like we were undercover restaurant critiques/taste testers.  We pretended like we knew everyone around us and their life stories.  We put chocolate in our teeth and pretended like we didn't know it was there.  It got to be pretty hilarious, at least to us.

My gosh I love this kid and how much he makes me laugh.

Overall, it was special in a simple type of way.  We exchanged gifts, yes, but my favorite part of it all was just being with him reminiscing on how we fell in love and our future plans together.  Oh and the wedding album he made for me was kind of my favorite too:).

My life has been extremely blessed just by knowing Dustin, let alone being lucky enough to marry him.  He lights up my life and gives me an eternal perspective in a way I have never experienced before.  I love knowing that through my Heavenly Father's plan, I can be with him forever and our family doesn't end in this life.  We have so much more to learn together and so many experiences to have, but right now at our one year mark, I am grateful for the things I have learned already.  We aren't perfect.  Sometimes we are impatient and we definitely don't agree on everything, but we love each other.  I am grateful to have Dustin by my side living the gospel with me and being my support.

Thanks for a great year babe!!
